Leandro’s Story

Abortion nor Hurricane Irma could stop Baby Leandro from being born!

While South Florida was experiencing the force winds of Hurricane Irma, young Charlene was giving birth to Baby Leandro at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Charlene had come from Honduras, scared, alone and pregnant without knowing where to go and get help. Everyone around her was recommending an abortion, even though she was already 30 weeks and had not received any pre-natal care.

To God’s glory a local church referred her to our Flagler Pregnancy Help Medical Clinic where an ultrasound was performed and she saw her beautiful baby boy for the first time. Hope returned to her heart when a friend told her she could give her a place to live. THERE WAS ROOM AT THE INN!

Leslie, the Ultrasound Technician Supervisor at our Flagler clinic, made the right calls and got the pre-natal care Charlene needed. Today we rejoice at God’s Miracle in spite of the spiritual and physical storms of life. Baby Leandro was born healthy and safe the same day Hurricane Irma hit! He weighed 7 lbs and measured 20 in.
