Baby Daniella

Yelitza's hopes and dreams were shattered when her doctor gave her the news that her baby had Down Syndrome. He offered to schedule an abortion for her. Yelitza was distraught, and her heart was broken.

Yelitza came to our North Miami Clinic for a pregnancy test.

She was in disbelief when the test was positive because she had never been able to conceive a child. Our ultrasound tech Olga performed the ultrasound, and we were able to see her precious 16 week little girl. Yelitza was thrilled to tell her husband and family.

However, a couple of weeks later, her hopes and dreams were shattered when her doctor gave her the news that the baby was Down Syndrome. He then told her, “We can schedule you for an abortion”. She was distraught.

With a broken heart, she called Olga for prayer and strength. Even though she did not want to abort, it seemed to be the most “humane” thing to do. Olga asked her to come in to our clinic, and called our team to prayer.  I immediately thought of our dear Lizbett, who was one of clients and had gone through the same situation 5 years before with her son…and right there, in our clinic, she had chosen life for her little boy, David. Lizbett came to the clinic to support Yelitza with her testimony of how “Down Syndrome David” is the joy of her life and a Mighty Warrior of God!

Lizbett shared with Yelitza how her emotions were like a roller coaster during that time – how her first son, Vincent, was “perfect”, and why not this little boy…why, God? She shared how God strengthened her through the prayers and support of Heartbeat of Miami and the people God sent her way. How God’s power and love for her allowed her to see miracles unfold daily in baby David. That very day, Yelitza received the strength to choose life for baby Daniella. The baby’s father left her, but her mother and sister were there for support, and so was Heartbeat of Miami and Lizbett.

Finally, baby Daniella came to the world in time to celebrate the New Year. To everyone’s surprise, Daniella did not have Down Syndrome. Even the doctors called it a miracle…but Yelitza was so in love with her daughter that having Down Syndrome or not did not matter, the miracle was that she had chosen life!

Lizbett and Yelitza have remained friends for LIFE! Daniella’s first visitors at home were Lizbett, Vincent and Mighty Warrior David. To God be the glory! “For this child I have prayed.” 1 Samuel 1:27.

Thank you for your support which continues to make these miracles possible!
