Martha and Julian were given the option of terminating the pregnancy. However, raised with strong Christian values, they knew they could not abort their child. Instead, they came to our Pregnancy Help Medical Clinic in Hialeah. They had heard about us and knew we were there to help pregnant women with a difficult situation. They were so vulnerable and the pain they were enduring was too great for them to bear alone. They wanted support, they needed encouragement. What a blessing and an honor for us to be chosen by the Lord to be there for them that day.

After hearing their story, our heart embraced this couple. Their pain was unbearable, but their hope and their faith was strong. We prayed and cried together, and a beautiful friendship blossomed. Martha and Julian were expecting a little girl. The weeks ahead were difficult but this beautiful couple had chosen life in spite of the painful trial they were about to endure and suffer. When Martha started her labor pains, she asked us to be there with her. Baby Camila was born prematurely. She was so tiny and so beautiful. With many hugs, kisses and lullabies, this precious little girl went to be with the Lord 40 hours after her birth. In her short life, Baby Camila touched so many people. Especially me. Lord, I thank you for the blessing of seeing You in her tiny face. Thank You for seeing Your love in Martha and Julian. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4

My friends, I saw this couple give our Lord thanks for choosing them to be Little Camila's parents. They did not ask why, they just gave thanks. Their pain was unbearable, but He who bore the cross at Calvary gave them the strength. Instead of their hands being stained with the shedding of innocent blood, their hands caressed their baby girl and they will forever remember how soft and sweet she felt. Those were the words the Lord gave me when Martha and Julian asked me to speak at Baby Camila's funeral service.

Queridos Amigos,

Hoy les escribo con un testimonio en honor a una pareja muy especial y valiente, Martha y Julián. Martha tenía 18 semanas de embarazo cuando su embarazo fue diagnosticado de alto riesgo con Trisonomy 18, que es un trastorno genético en el que la criatura tiene una tercera copia del material genético del cromosoma 18 en lugar de las habituales dos copias.

Los doctores le dieron a Martha y Julián la opción de terminar el embarazo. Sin embargo, fuertes en sus valores Cristianos, ellos no iban a terminar con la vida de su bebé. Ellos vinieron a la Clínica de Embarazo de Heartbeat of Miami en Hialeah. Habían escuchado sobre nosotros y que nosotros ayudábamos a las mujeres embarazadas que atravesaban una situación difícil. Ellos estaban tan vulnerables y el dolor que llevaban dentro era demasiado grande para llevarlo solos. Necesitaban apoyo, necesitaban palabras de aliento y de fe. Que bendición y que honor para nosotros ser escogidas por el Señor para estar disponible para ellos en esos momentos tan difíciles.

Después de escuchar su historia, nuestros corazones acogieron a esta pareja. El dolor era insoportable, pero la esperanza y la fe de ellos dos era fuerte. Oramos y lloramos juntos, y una hermosa amistad floreció. Martha y Julián esperaban a una niñita. Las próximas semanas fueron difíciles pero esta preciosa pareja había elegido la vida a pesar de la prueba tan dolorosa que estaban a punto de sufrir. Cuando Martha comenzó sus dolores de parto, nos pidió que estuviésemos allí con ella. La preciosa Camila nació prematuramente. Era tan pequeñita y tan hermosa. Con muchos besos, abrazos, y canciones de cuna, esta preciosa niñita se fue con el Señor 40 horas después de su nacimiento. En su corta vida, la bebita Camila había impactado a tantas personas. Especialmente a mí. Señor, te agradezco la bendición de verte a Ti en ese pequeño rostro. Gracias por ver tu amor tan profundo en Martha y Julián. "Dichosos los que lloran, porque serán consolados." Mateo 5:4

Mis amigos, yo vi a esta joven pareja dar gracias a nuestro Señor por haberlos elegido a ellos para ser los padres de Camilita. No preguntaron "porque", solo daban gracias. El dolor era insoportable, pero el que llevo la Cruz al Calvario les dio la fuerza. En lugar de sus manos estar manchadas con el derramamiento de sangre inocente, sus manos acariciaron a su hijita y siempre recordarán lo suave y dulce que se sintió. Esas son las palabras que el Señor me dio cuando Martha y Julián me pidieron que hablara en el entierro de la bebé Camila.
