Archbishop of Miami encourages Catholic support for the Heartbeat of Miami project
Father John C. Favalora, Archbishop of Miami, has written to the parishes in and around Hialeah to encourage their involvement and support of Heartbeat of Miami's first initiative in Hialeah. To read the letter click here.
"I write to you today to encourage your support of the "Heartbeat of Miami" project, an ecumenical effort to open an ultra-sound equipped pregnancy center in Hialeah."
Hialeah was chosen as our first initiative because it currently has 7 abortion facilities operating there. This past summer, one of them was closed after a baby was born alive there and reportedly placed into a bio hazard bag and left to suffocate. This incident merely highlighted the need to open a fully supported, ultrasound-equipped, pregnancy help clinic there as soon as possible.
Concerning this Archbishop Favalora writes, "The Archdiocesan Respect Life Office believes that we must join this effort to address this escalating attack on human life." Joan Crown of the Respect Life Office is a participating member of the Hialeah Development Committee. She, along with Rev. John Ensor, have met with Father Jordi Rivero (St Raymond's) to discuss ways to partner and participate in the Heartbeat of Miami initiative. To help, please contact Joan Crown at (305) 653-2966 or email her at jmcrown@bellsouth.net.
